The single fact alone that these 'private sector consultants' drafting contract language for the most vital national interest in Iraq will _not_ even let themselves be identified by name and background for attribution indicates, to me, two things: a) their formal statement about their role is horse manure, and b) the Oil Ministry in Iraq is a kennel full of running dogs. ---But this is obvious if anyone follows the news on Iraq closely. Practically speaking there IS no Iraq government. Their are fiefdoms of individual with contracting authority but no oversight, court system, or real power if cut off from the US tit, to be blunt. None of these carpetbaggers would last 48 hours if the US military took a long step back to Kuwait and beyond, which for that reason alone can't happen too soon for me.

War makes liars out of everyone. War for treasure makes for clumsy liars, or anonymous ones.

what is the one thing that can stop the military in it's track, regardless of how advanced that military is. OIL!!

What is the one and only thing that makes the US a superpower, the military.

Get the connection. We don't have oil, we lose our superpower status, and that is not acceptable for either political party.

Must be comforting to the families of the fallen in the Iraq war (and other wars as well), to know that their loved ones died for OIL.

The other events in the global financial crisis are real enough, but ultimately will focus on oil, because without that all global economies will come to a halt. And how do you control the population when it gets outraged about the cost of oil (gas, heating oil, diesel, etc) - through the military of course.

And if this agreement is up to the usual standards of the Bush Admin, we can be certain that it gives the Iranians, Chinese, Indians, Japanese, and possibly even the North Koreans full control Iraqi oil.
