Closing Hours of the 2021 Fundraiser, About to Hit Our New $ and Donor Targets!

The Naked Capitalism community has spoken!. Your generous donations say you want more in-depth reporting, fast and insightful analysis of important events, and impact. You’ve provided tangible backing for your desire to have us demystify complex technical topics, call out corruption, shred propaganda, become more effective in our activism, provide a place for sanity checks, blowing off steam, and camaraderie, and in our small way, help promote the establishment of a more just society.

We set an initial target of 1100 donors for our fundraiser. You met that over the first weekend. We set a new goal of 1350. You broke that late last week. We set a new target of 1600, which we’ve increased for the close of this fundraiser to 1800. We are at 1591 donations. Can you be one of the donors that rises to this final challenge?

It’s hard to believe I’ve been reading Naked Capitalism for nearly ten years. My father introduced me to the site in the wake of the GFC, and while it took a few years for me to make it a fixture of my daily routine, now I can’t imagine doing without it. It’s sad to say that a blog which presents critical analysis and attempts to discern the truth rather than confirming preconceived biases is a breath of fresh air, but it really is. It’s sad to say that NC is nigh-unique in exposing self-dealing and financial crimes among our elites, or in discussing the frauds that are carbon capture or cap-and-trade, but it is. I hoped to be able to donate more than the symbolic $27 this year, but I have the unenviable status of a so-called COVID “long-hauler” and haven’t yet returned to work full-time, so sadly my finances can’t manage any more; but I gladly trade a takeout dinner for the satisfaction of contributing. You, Lambert, Jerri-Lynn, and the moderator(s) have my undying gratitude for maintaining the site and what may be the only worthwhile comments section on the Internet, especially in the face of obvious drive-by trolls and bad-faith debaters.
