Final Hours of Fundraiser, Beat New Donor Target

The Naked Capitalism community has spoken loudly and clearly. You’ve said you want this site to continue to improve. You’ve been willing to provide tangible backing for your desire to have us demystify finance, call out chicanery in high places, parse propaganda, and in our small way, help promote the creation of a more just society.

We set an initial target of 1000 donors for our fundraiser. You met that yesterday. We set a new target of 1100. You blew past that today. We are now at 1139 donors. This is 30% more donors than we got all day yesterday, and each day this week we’ve had more people contribute to the fundraiser than the day before.

But even with this great support, we are still short by $2200 of our final goal of $16,000 for more original reporting. Let’s see if we can get to 1200 donors and hit our last monetary target before the close of this effort, midnight PST.

Join us and participate via our Tip Jar, another credit card portal or by check (see here for details).

There are multiple ways to give. The first is here on the blog, the Tip Jar, which takes you to PayPal. There you can use a debit card, a credit card or a PayPal account (the charge will be in the name of Aurora Advisors).

You can also send a check (or multiple post dated checks) in the name of Aurora Advisors Incorporated to

Aurora Advisors Incorporated
903 Park Avenue, 8th Floor
New York, NY 10075

Please also send an e-mail to yves@nakedcapitalism.com with the headline “Check is in the mail” (and just the $ en route in the message) to have your contribution included in the total number of donations.

We’ve gotten SO many messages that it will take me some time to dig through them. I wanted to share a few:

Of the many sites I get info from, NC is the cream of the crop in content, comments and quality. Keep it up, we’re solidly behind you.

My compliments for your absolutely brave and disciplined coverage. An example of what investigative reporting ought to be.

Your website is the most valuable site I read, and it has been for at least the last six years. I may not always agree with your conclusions, but I applaud your honesty and effort. I really don’t know how you do it, so my hat’s off to you.

Fighting a war against oligarchs and fascism,= unfortunately requires a supply of the oligarch’s favorite weapon, money. A good heart and righteousness doesn’t go nearly as far as a good heart, righteousness, and a war chest. Keep up the good work.

So, last chance. Be one of the 60 or so we need to push this effort over the top.

If you can give a little, give a little. If you can give more, give more. If you can give a lot, give a lot. You are investing in being part of the solution. And thanks again for your support!

Naked Capitalism….. the blog that informs one, to the effect, of conversing with politicians, upper level administration sorts of private enterprise and academics, where after a bit of yacking, the question is popped…. what did you do your doctorate in… is it multidisciplinary…

The real kicker is the learning curve is adaptive in real time, introspective, evidence based, passionate and compassionate, data inclusive and not exclusive, one of the best one stop research and data pools, and no bloody sacred cows. I mean, the amount of exhumed authors and concepts which most never knew of or where exposed too, in an attempt to flesh out reality vs. the popular reality offered by mainstream venues, is of its self, a triumph of intellectual curiosity.

skippy… I don’t know if the Naked Capitalism effect is a curse or a compliment, but its sure worth some folding stuff just for the hijinks.

PS. its been awhile but…. Naked Capitalism is my whistle… and nailed to it like the rest of its nefarious dessian’s.

I donated early in the campaign, but will do so again in these closing hours, in honor of those who’ve expressed their desire to contribute, but the inadequacy of their funds.

Don’t know how you will “count” this; just put the $$$ in the cookie jar.

    Congratulations, gratitude and best wishes.
