All six Latin American leaders share an ideological affinity with Trump, and are the closest thing his government has to strategic partners/vassals in the region.

The European Parliament wants a central bank digital currency. And it wants it as soon as possible, and in all its possible forms.

The US State Department insists that US restrictions on oil in Cuba are not amplifying the need for humanitarian aid there.

One thing is already clear: Peter Mandelson (aka the Prince of Darkness) is now a spent force in British politics.  

Donald Trump’s vision of low-cost colonialism bears echoes of the fiscal receivership model pioneered by Theodore Roosevelt, which did not end well for most concerned.

It seems that a new chapter in Latin America’s long history of “open veins” is about to be written, and unfortunately Eduardo Galeano is no longer around to do it.

Yet more evidence that improving the lot of those at the very bottom of the income ladder does not necessarily produce unemployment or runaway inflation.

Talk about making the victim pay…
