If inflation is rising in Ireland — where unemployment is 14.5% and aggregate demand is in a ditch — then you can sure that any so-called ‘inflationary pressures’ in most economies (the UK etc.) are not demand-driven; that is, they are NOT being caused by too much government spending.
I’d almost go as far as to say that it’s not really inflation at all.
Oil and commodities prices are being driven up by dodgy speculators (see above) and as for rising health costs, well it seems that there’s just a major investment drive taking place in healthcare around the world at the moment. So the higher prices are really going to lead to better care in the future.
(P.S. What I say above about healthcare costs is only true for countries that aren’t the US. It’s been well documented that a good deal of the rising costs in the US (they’re rising faster than elsewhere) is due to Obama’s weak-ass healthcare plan. Still though, that’s an exogenous price shock — so the interpretation that there’s no real inflation in the economy still holds).
I’m feeling sort of uneasy about Wolfie & the Bear, wondering if said wolf isn’t about to turn into lunch.

Very curious photo. I would give 100-1 odds the hug is affectionate but how did the dog (wolf?) become friends?

Re: The photo
I know that there are a number of photos/videos of sled dogs playing with Polar Bears. There’s a Snopes article discussing it. As usual, it’s never entirely clear if it’s actually “play” or not, but the animals involved never seem to come to harm.

Thanks a lot for the link but it is pretty clear to me that it is play. There is much in nature that is inexplicable to Darwinists but which makes sense if a loving Creator is considered.

Bear: Look wolf, here’s the plan. When she comes by just strike up a conversation with her.
Wolf: How do I get her to stay still that long? Most people run the minute they see me.
Bear: Just say, Hey Sarah, I’m from the RNC.
Wolf: And she’s going to fall for that?
Bear: Sure, you’re a natural for a RNC staffer.
Wolf: That’s what the oil execs all tell me. OK, I’m game.
Bear: You trying to be funny or something?
Wolf: No, no, there’s too much at steak.
Bear: (Growl)
