Procrastinators of the World, Unite! Last Day, Last Chance for Our 2025 Fundraiser!

Thanks to the backing of many loyal readers, we’re getting close to our targets. We’re at 1359 donations, nearing our new target of 1500. And at $1,955, we are moving towards our final fundraiser target of $45,000 for original reporting.

We know from experience that many of you are busy and like the discipline of deadlines. Please take up this last chance of this 2025 fundraiser to invest in the Naked Capitalism community through the donations page!

There’s still time to catch the final push. We are still behind on both our big targets.> Our average donation size is higher than last year (hooray!), but our number of donations is down. We suspect that is a combination of inflation pinching some budgets and reader churn due to our not-Israel-sympathetic coverage of the war in Gaza.

If you are addicted to our daily super-sized Links, Conor’s globe-ranging coverage of current and imminent trouble spots and US class warfare leverage points, Nick’s focus on digital currencies and Latin America, KLG exposing not exactly scientific science, Haig on the many ugly yet effective (certainly in grifting terms) operation of the military machine, Nat on fracturing US politics, Dem fecklessness, and tech mogul machinations, Curro on big picture world order questions, such as the future of Europe’s social compact and Trump’s Latin America aggression as a possible template, semper loquitur’s popular Sunday movies, and Yves covering the slow motion decline of the West, as demonstrated by the Ukraine, Gaza and Iran wars and increasingly wobbly markets and economies, plus adorable critters, please go straight to the Tip Jar! Dig deep to keep this feisty enterprise punching above its weight!

Please take a couple of minutes to visit our fundraiser page to chip in for another year of incisive analysis, provocative and often witty discussions, and your daily dose of soothing beastie pix.

Remember, every donation now goes to original reporting. The fundraiser ends tonight at midnight PDT.

Will you help make this fundraiser a big success? Give now, and give generously through our fundraiser page. Remember, if you help us beat our goals, we can do even more on your behalf!

We’ve deeply appreciated not only the many donations we’ve gotten, but also the kind notes from readers. From Pete W:

Dear Yves Smith and everyone at Naked Capitalism. I sent in a small check of $50.00 yesterday. I wish it could be more. Thank you for all the good work that you do.

And Doug K:

I just sent you a check for $1,000. I wish I could remember how I came across Naked Capitalism but it was years ago. I can’t think of anything to add to the accolades you’ve already received, so I’ll just keep it short and thank you for all that you do.

And Pete:

Crazy times!
Thanks for my daily dose of sanity.

And Chris L:

I’m nearing ten years of readership here and I, hanging on to the remnants of the public sector civil service (state, but a blue “enemy within” state), am able to lend a hand.

This is consistently, preciously, no bullshit informative stuff. As the Information Age, such as it was, has devolved into confused slop powered by hallucinating AI it really means something to have a place moored to the real world and what matters. Even with turnover in staff the quality, continuity, and focus never wavered.

We’re coming up on close of our the 2025 fundraiser. You can give through our fundraiser page, where you can use a credit or debit card or a PayPal account (the charge will be in the name of Aurora Advisors).

You can also send a check (we like checks!) in the name of Aurora Advisors Incorporated to

Aurora Advisors Incorporated
PO Box 110105
Brooklyn, NY 11211-0105

Please also send an e-mail to yves@nakedcapitalism.com with the headline “Check is in the mail” (and the $ en route in the message) to have your contribution included in the total number of donations.

Give now to Naked Capitalism. Whatever you can provide, whether $10 or $100 or $1,000, it helps us all keep this community vibrant. This isn’t just a donation. You making a statement that you want a different debate, a different society, and a different culture. It’s time to join us as we make sure this site can do an even better job of marshaling our energies to take on the lies that prop up a diseased power structure and promote a more just social order.

I donated earlier this week, but I also want to donate a little time to tell how much this community means to me. Being short on time (2 very young kids) I will try with a more… aqueous comparison.

Without Naked capitalism, the news looks like a tidal wave of information. Ever been hit by a wave while swimming (or surfing) in the sea and washing up on shore? That’s what it feels like to me. In these times, it feels that you not only get the centrifugal, disorienting motion in a direction that you didn’t want, but you also hit the rocky bottom various times. You end up covered in sand, seaweed and garbage, gasping for air while feeling somehow more stupid than you went in.

With naked capitalism, I feel like I am able to dive in underwater and get a grip. It enables me to see the currents, and the various nooks, crannies, and shadowy throughs in the bottom. It gives me air to breathe, a light to search, and flippers or an underwater jet to move. It even points out where to look for cute animals!

Thanks you Yves & other writers, and keep it up!

Yves & the many other NC contributors-

Thank you for your continued dedication. I originally found the site way back via what I believe was a guest column that Yves had run in place of Glennwald in Salon while he was away on vacation; if I’m remembering correctly, probably in the late aughts during the acute crisis phase. I can’t think of a more significant catalyst to the evolution of my political consciousness and intellect in the intervening years. Nor can I think of a better place to help stay informed and, where possible, level-headed in these increasingly interesting times. My donation is much more modest than I’d prefer given how much I get out of your ongoing efforts, but alas, New England rents don’t allow for much of a fun budget for those of us in the bottom 95% of the income distribution.

Thank you again for all the hard work – it is truly and greatly appreciated!
