Holiday Coverage Note

Posted on by

Dear patient readers,

With the long holiday weekend in the US and UK, news flow ought to be at a lower level, and most of you will hopefully be getting some R&R and traveling or seeing family and friends.

Curro asked to have last night off for his Coffee Break to make an arranged-at-last-minute trip. KLG will be on today for his regular duty.

I have some appointments today, and new action seems limited so I anticipate the Iran War update will be short.

What I do on that front between now and Tuesday morning depends on developments.

I do want to take a break if possible on Monday. But Conor is on duty for Links and two other posts, so you will still get a good informational diet.

Enjoy the breather, and for those hitting the road, safe travels!

Take care, all of you! The wading and parsing takes a heavy toll, and it is important you stay healthy!

Have a great holiday, guys and I especially mean Yves and the crew at NC. It’s a very good idea to take a break now as the second half of this year will not resemble the first.

Words cannot express the value I have found at NC for over a decade, or my appreciation of it. I hope we all get to experience a bit of a holiday from bad news, but I ain’t holding my breath.

Recently Rick Wilson was explaining why everything bad about Trump just bounces off the back of his followers, in a way that amazes other people – they already identify with him, and have a strong “parasocial” relationship with him that goes back decades to The Apprentice TV show and his frequent appearances on Fox.

Similarly, I suggest we in the NC community have a parasocial relationship with Yves and the rest of the crew, and the frequent commenters – in a good way, of course. Enjoy the holiday, is my hope for and advice to all who read these words.

For God’s and our sake’s, take Monday off.
Eat some wonderful food, drink fruity drinks with silly little umbrella’s in them and spend time laughing with friends.

IRGC, stay alert over the US Memorial Day. The empire is likely to strike. And create more dead to memorialize. Death to the Empire! Life to the planet!

It is not only Memorial Day, but Bank Holiday in the UK and Pentecost/Whitsun in most of the Christian World, so perfect time to escalate.
Having said that, I hope Yves and the rest of the NC team take the time off and enjoy it + wishing all of the commentariat a wonderful long weekend. After all, what can we do in the great scheme of things?
We’ll be tending to the garden – food and non-food items.
